Time Jean and Souvena Claude struggled to make their small family farm in Haiti a success, but, without the means to buy seeds in bulk, they could not produce the large harvests needed for a thriving farm.
A 2014 visit to a FINCA branch finally gave them the opportunity of their dreams. With access to a loan, they purchased shallot and bean seeds in bulk. They used the profits from that harvest, along with subsequent FINCA loans, to diversify their crops, giving them the dependable livelihood they had struggled for twenty years to build.
Grateful for their success, Time and Souvena are committed to building a brighter future for their entire community and helped open a primary school in an unused building on their farm.
