Bushra Rasheed, Pakistan

It was hard work, of course, but Bushra enjoyed spending every day caring for the four children she had with her husband.

Until the day her husband abandoned her and the children … and took with him all of their savings and possessions.

Bushra, who had never held a job, suddenly needed to find a way to earn enough money to provide for her children. Drawing on a talent for hair styling and make-up that she’d developed as a girl, she ran a small beauty shop out of her home. Bushra worked hard, but the tiny shop barely made ends meet, and it was a daily struggle even to provide the most basic care for her children.

And that’s when she went to FINCA. She used her first loan to rent a shop on the bustling market street. Four years later, her tiny beauty shop has expanded to include a small clothing boutique, and business is so good, she even employs four other women!

When hit with traumatic personal adversity, Bushra fought back with her own hard work, good business sense—and a FINCA loan caring people like you made possible.
